Summary:
We are currently hiring for a Skilled Labourer who considers Safety a number one priority. Reporting to the Field Operations Director, you will be working as part of our project team providing support on various construction tasks. This role is employed through CLAC, and membership will be required once hired.             
                                                 
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Willing and able to perform physically demanding work including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Adherence and participation in the Scott Construction Health & Safety Program
  • Clean up, shoveling, moving materials.
·        Open/unlock the site and close the site daily. Gates, fence up and down and handed over to our security gourds.
  • Garbage and Waste removal.
  • Load and unload construction materials and move materials to work areas.
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades.
  • Assist carpenters in construction activities.
  • Assist in demolishing buildings using prying bars and other tools, and sort, clean and pile salvaged materials.
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, and other equipment.
  • Use and proficiency on some power tools.
  • Able to perform:
  •  Demolition. Digging, Backfill, Compaction. Dewatering. Dismantle forms, non-engineered hoarding and fencing, Grading. Slab on grade prep. Rodman.
  • Operate pneumatic hammers, vibrators and tampers as directed.
  • Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction such as mixers, compressors, and pumps.
  • Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants and remove asbestos and other hazardous materials.
  • Oil and grease hoists and similar equipment.
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites.
  • Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed.

Qualifications
  • Valid SiteReadyBC, Fall Protection, and Level 1 First Aid tickets, Telehandler ticket an asset.
  • At least 1 year of construction site experience
  • Good communication skills and strong focus on client relationships

Compensation

$22.71 - $34.05 per hour
